As pharmaceutical supply chains continue to grow globally, they are naturally exposed to greater risks that could compromise the integrity of products. The risks of theft, counterfeiting and diversion continue to challenge the global biopharma supply chain, and security issues remain a priority in an increasingly complex and globalized environment.
The industry has responded to security threats by implementing countermeasures and developing new technologies to reduce counterfeiting and thefts. However, threats still exist as thieves and counterfeiters adapt and evolve to the industry’s response.
