Cold Chain IQ is in the fortunate position to work with a great number of knowledge leaders and well known figures within the cold chain logistics industry. While compiling our whitepapers, articles and webinars, and by attending our global portfolio of events we get to see plenty of good business people, but there are some who we believe make it to that next level – they are true leaders in their field. Each part of this series identifies one such leader and explains what we think sets them apart from the rest.
Graham Martin Supply Chain Excellence Manager, Pfizer
Graham Martin became Supply Chain Excellence Manager at Pfizer Biotech in February this year. He currently heads up the Temperature Sensitive Solutions and Supply Chain Projects.
Prior to role he was Cold Chain Strategic Development Manager for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and Warehouse and Distribution Manager at Wyeth for 17 years.
"With the emerging markets especially in Africa, there is a very low health cost per person. So in logistics we have to look for cost effective solutions that will last the journey and the profile. It is very important that we meet that for that particular region. Logistics can be complex in those areas, so you have road transport and air links etc. So that is something we are all very wary of and the end of the day its the product efficacy and the getting to patient supply on time and obviously patient safety is paramount to that," Martin says.
