Internal size and temperature protection ranges can be changed as needed

Rochester, NY – American Aerogel announces FlexSystem, a unique insulated shipping solution that provides customers with the flexibility to change internal configuration based on changing needs. FlexSystem is a variable temperature shipping solution that utilizes vacuum insulated panels (VIPs) for insulation, resulting in superior payload protection.

Both size and temperature protection range of the compartments in FlexSystem can be adjusted based on payload requirements. "Many of our customers and industry contacts have expressed a need for a configurable shipping solution that is flexible enough to accommodate changing daily needs without sacrificing payload temperature protection", stated Jay McHarg, President of American Aerogel. FlexSystem components are pre-qualified to maintain controlled room temperature (CRT), refrigerated, and frozen temperature ranges for both 24 and 48 hours. The compartment sizes, based on inner volume, are 4, 12, and 30 liters.

The durable outer shell is made from corrugated plastic so it can withstand multiple shipments and includes a built in strap and handle for easy transport. The outer dimensions of the shell for all configurations are 19 x 14 x 15 inches.

FlexSystem is made possible by Aerocore VIPs – a proprietary technology with an R-50 per inch value, surpassing anything else currently on the market, including expanded polystyrene (EPS), polyurethane, and other VIPs.

About American Aerogel

American Aerogel Corporation has developed superior R-50 vacuum insulation panels that provide dramatically higher levels of performance for shipping temperature-sensitive products than anything currently on the market. The patented product, Aerocore, is an advanced nanoporous, open-celled material that is ideal for temperature-sensitive shipping applications. This allows customers to ship larger payloads, with less coolant, in smaller containers, and over a longer period of time. Biologics customers have shipped thousands of products in Aerocore containers with no product loss due to temperature variations.
