Despite the current global economic uncertainty, temperature controlled professionals in the life sciences are optimistic about job prospects, and growth is predicted for 2013 and beyond.

While R&D pipelines shrink and many pharmaceutical companies are looking to restructure their drug development operations and do more with less.

Cold Chain IQ’s 2012 "Economy and Job Outlook Survey – Cold Chain Pharma in Recessionary Times" survey research shows that majority of manufacturers of life science products and temperature control solution/service providers plan to invest in new technologies to tackle their supply chain challenges and improve the efficiency of their operations.

Key Findings

  • 84% of manufacturers think their company is better prepared to cope if a recession hits in 2013
  • Over half of manufacturers of life science products (53%) are looking to expand into Asia in the next 12 – 18 months
  • 46% of life science manufacturers think their company should be investing in packaging in the next 12 months to increase profitability
